Manchester boxing champ Ricky Hatton is apparently planning a chain of bars, with the first planned for Manchester.

The Sunday Mirror carried the story, sourced from an 'insider' at the Hatton camp, about how Ricky wants to run a chain of bars once he's retired.

Four "Hitman" venues are planned, with Blackpool, Tenerife and Las Vegas to follow, once his home town bar has been opened.

"His bars are bound to be lively places and Ricky is insisting they all have plenty of Guinness on tap," said the insider, who hinted that Ricky wanted to emulate the success of Gary Linekers bars.

I wonder if the former-Sports Cafe on Peter Street is up for sale, that type of sports driven venue, with a hint of spit and sawdust, would be right up his street, but would a Hitman bar work in Manchester?

The project is expected to take a backseat whilst Ricky concentrates on his next fight.
